FAQ: What will my Family Law solicitor do for me?

Our role is to help you through the legal process and guide you on the law. We do that by listening to you, trying to work out what sort of outcome you need or want.

The process involves Form E and financial disclosure, where all financial information is gathered and exchanged. A reasonable financial settlement is assessed based on legislation and case law, identifying any gaps in information from your ex-spouse or ex-partner.

Your solicitor will guide you towards a fair settlement through negotiation, helping you find realistic compromises to reach resolution.

Finally, your solicitor will prepare your consent order and manage the court process to formalise the financial agreement.
