As we shared last month, Will Cadbury is participating in an inspiring 320-mile cycling challenge this June. He will be cycling from Gheluvelt Park in Worcester to Gheluvelt in Ypres, Belgium, over the course of four days in order to commemorate the courageous sacrifice of the Worcestershire Regiment and their efforts during World War I.

Will has been tirelessly preparing for the challenge and with one week to go until it begins, he is tapering down his training to preserve his energy. He is hoping for clear skies throughout the journey, but is preparing for any eventuality. Another member of the team has recently ridden each stage of the English part of the proposed route, which, subject to some tweaks, is the same trail that Will will be following next weekend.

He says, “My last long training ride was on Saturday involving a stopover in Broadway and I tried (and failed) to attempt to climb the infamous Fish Hill. There is still time to donate on the website - anything would be greatly appreciated to help keep me motivated while climbing the steeper hills on the route.”

Help Will reach his target of £500 by making a donation. As well as celebrating Worcestershire’s rich and diverse history, the event is in aid of three fantastic charities:

The group has already surpassed their donation target of £5,000; sitting at £5,975.00 at the time of publication. We’re looking forward to sharing more updates on Will’s progress through our social media profiles. You can find us at @smesolicitors on FacebookLinkedIn and Instagram.

Finally, on Day 4, the group will get a ferry from Dover to Dunkirk, then cycle to Ypres and visit the Gheluvelt Chateau, a distance of 52 miles. In the evening, they will be visiting the Menin Gate.
