SME Solicitors donates to Neonatal Unit

SME Solicitors has completed a year of fundraising for the Neonatal Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital by donating £1200 to the Unit.

 

SME Solicitors fundraised for the charity throughout the 12 months, with events including its annual corporate quiz, dress down days and bake-offs and a staff guess the baby competition.

 

Ian Stirzaker, Senior Partner at SME Solicitors comments:  “This charity is exceptionally close to our hearts as our colleague Yvonne Tivey’s little girl Lily was born 9 weeks prematurely.  Yvonne and Lily were cared for in the Neonatal Unit by the amazing team at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

 

Yvonne Tivey added:  “Lily was born prematurely weighing 2 pounds 6 ounces. She and I stayed in the Neonatal Unit and Lily eventually came home at 6 weeks old.  She is now 2 and is happy, healthy and full of beans!  The staff at the Unit were incredible in every way.  I am so happy that my colleagues and I were able to support them.”

 

Neonatal Sister Sharon Ali said:  “It was so much fun to be involved with a local fundraiser when Anya and I were invited to the bake off. The funds raised will go towards non-essential items that enhance the babies care. It is a privilege to care for babies like Lily. I have the best job in the world!"
