Court of Protection

The Court of Protection is a section of our court system that deals specifically with vulnerable people. Should a member of your family no longer have mental capacity to deal with their affairs an application can be made to the Court of Protection for a Deputy to be appointed. Furthermore, specific one off applications can be made to the Court of Protection to assist with specific circumstances such as the selling of the vulnerable persons home or directions relating to health care.

Applications to the Court of Protection can be time consuming and lengthy. The team here at SME can guide you through this process and help you to help those close to you.

Team member Alan James specialises in matters involving the Court of Protection.  He can guide you through the procedures involved in making an appliction for the appointment of a Deputy or making an application for a Statutory Will.
