We are always looking for talented and motivated individuals to join our team and you can see our current vacancies at the bottom of this page or by clicking here.

But, why join us? What makes us different to other law firms? See what some of our team say about us:

“SME Solicitors is a growing firm, building on our solid reputation, combining traditional values with modern working methods. Our aim is to be the law firm of choice for businesses and individuals in the Three Counties by focusing on our 5 core values; excellence, integrity, service, honesty and expertise.

These core values apply as much to our relationships with clients as they do between colleagues. We recruit people who fit with our culture, want to excel and want to contribute to the future of our firm. We welcome those who embrace working together to set a standard for others to aspire to.

I am very proud of the team we have at SME Solicitors.”

Yvonne Tivey, Head of Business Strategy and Development

“I thoroughly enjoy working for SME. It is a forward thinking law firm offering great opportunities. There is a strong mentality of team work so you never feel alone or unsupported. The quality of work is excellent and provides fee earners with challenges, keeping the area of discipline interesting. Since joining the firm I have always felt like I am working with an extended family. Outside the usual day to day business, the firm recognises the importance of work/life balance and social events for all. I would highly recommend joining this firm.”

Claire Bentick, Solicitor

“There is great atmosphere in the office, every member of staff is approachable and were very welcoming when I first started. All the departments work well together and there is really good communication between departments. The partners keep everyone updated on what is happening within the firm and you feel like you have a real stake in the success of the firm. There is also a great social side to the firm ranging from the firm’s networking events and charity bake-offs to work arranged outings. Overall I think that SME is a really rewarding place to work and as a trainee solicitor I have been given great opportunities to learn and develop through genuine hands-on experience.”

William Cadbury, Trainee Solicitor

“SME has a young energetic partnership with forward thinking ideas and great plans to take the firm forwarded in a competitive market. We have good quality work and clients whilst at the same time maintaining the benefits of working as a close knit team…. almost like joining an extended family!”

Theresa Freer, Legal Assistant

“Everyone at SME is approachable, especially the management team. I recall at an annual drinks event a client commenting that it seemed to be like one big happy family which is entirely true. We have flexibility within our roles, the option to work from home and are trusted.”

Tim Pimblett, Solicitor

“Having spoken to friends at other laws firms I think one of the things that stands out here is that everyone is really approachable whatever their “rank”. If you have a query that you really can’t answer you know someone will be willing to help. Also, the opportunity for career progression – I know that’s probably a cliché and everyone says it but it’s clear that it’s true here."

Ellen Conry, Trainee Solicitor

“I feel appreciated and supported. There is a really good team feel. I don’t feel that I am competing with my colleagues but working together with them.”

Joanna Gardner, Solicitor
